Liz Cambage has one of the most impressive physiques in the WNBA—and it takes incredible discipline to maintain those muscles. One of Cambage's pre-game rituals is to eat pancakes. "I try to eat pancakes every day before a game. Pancakes is my thing," she says. "Every game day in Tulsa we go to IHOP. In Australia my nana cooks me pancakes. Also, our major sponsor for my team in Australia is Pancake Parlor which is an organic 24 hour pancake place. It's awesome."

Cambage avoids alcohol, after a particularly bad incident when she was younger. "When I was 18, I got alcohol poisoning at a music festival on New Year's Eve so I spent New Year's Eve on an IV, projectile vomiting for six hours straight. I was like, 'I can't do this!"' she says. "It was a 40-degree day, we were out in the sun, I had a few vodkas and my body was like: what are you doing? It was actually pretty scary. I don't need it. I'm always bubbly, I'm not shy and I don't lack confidence. It's funny that the whole 'scene' is to have a drink in your hand, but I'll just have a bottle of water."

Cambage is passionate about her love for coconut, especially in desserts. "Unlike cow's milk, coconut milk is lactose-free, so can be used as a milk substitute for those with lactose intolerance," says registered nutritionist Jo Lewin. "Lactose is the main type of carbohydrate in all mammalian milk, including human, goat and sheep. It's made up of two sugars, and your body needs an enzyme called lactase to adequately digest it. It's this enzyme that's lacking in those with lactose intolerance. Coconut milk is also a popular choice with vegans and makes a great base for smoothies or milkshakes and can be used as a dairy alternative in baking."

Cambage loves to "ride like the wind" in spin class. "Spin gives you a new perspective on how to ride, breathe, and think about your body," says Peloton instructor Jess King. "There's music from all different decades—from classic rock to EDM—and we use interval training, tabata training, and heart rate training, so it's still a great workout."

Cambage makes sure to include stretching exercises in her workout routine. "A lot of people don't understand that stretching has to happen on a regular basis. It should be daily," says David Nolan, a physical therapist at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital. "The areas critical for mobility are in your lower extremities: your calves, your hamstrings, your hip flexors in the pelvis and quadriceps in the front of the thigh."
